For example, one of the most common uses is to tenderize meat. By leaving the crock pot on low and simmering all day, you can tenderize a lesser quality piece of meat so that it has the texture of one which is much more expensive.

Depending on the brand and model of slow cooker you purchase, there may be quite a variety off accessories available. This includes: dust cover, insulated carrying totes, and a meat rack. Many of these come with a removable insert. This allows for much easier cleaning. The insert can usually be cleaned with hot, soapy water, or simply by putting it in the dishwasher.

So, what can you make in a 3 quart slow cooker? Just about anything! Recipes abound over the internet in crock pot recipes. Be sure to follow one which matches the size of yours to be sure that it all will fit though. A short list of things you can make: soups, chile, beans, rice pudding, fruit desserts, bread pudding, chicken, beef, pork, cooked fruit jams, oatmeal, etc. The list could go one forever.
